As numerous social and political issues are overlooked in our country which acts as formidable opponent in the way of social transformation of our nation. Bearing this scenario in mind, the core objective of the summit will be engaging the young scholars in social and political aspects through discursive dialogues. DISCURSIVE DIALOGUES
There will be four discursive dialogues in the second session of the summit. Four panelists (2 young scholars and 2 veteran scholars) will be assigned for each discursive dialogue. Furthermore, there will be three Best Discussant Awards in each discursive dialogue.
DISCURSIVE DIALOGUE-01: ON CRITIC OF RESEARCH
At present, young generation is not solely indulged in research works. As today’s scenario apparently proves that education is on sale, young people read the textbooks, attends examinations, pass and get recruited in jobs. Although there are exceptions as well, a correct way of doing researches, accuracy in research methodology, proper way of conducting qualitative and quantitative researches are not cognized among the young people. Moreover, for increasing the number of publications, people are now eager to publish articles in predatory journals which actually devalue their research papers. This discursive dialogue will reveal all these critical issues and will provide knowledge on how to conduct authentic research.
DISCURSIVE DIALOGUES-02: CREATIVITY IN EDUCATION
According to countrymeters, adult male literacy rate is 64.57%, and the adult female literacy rate is 58.49%. Youth literacy rates are 80.61% and 85.83% for males and females accordingly. Youth literacy rate definition covers the population between the ages of 15 to 24 years. According to World Data Atlas, elderly literacy rate in Bangladesh is only 31.6%. These literacy rates are not satisfactory to build a developed nation. This rate should be increased. Bangladesh’s education system is apparently theoretical and lacks practical knowledge and creativity. The enthusiasms of creating something new, the zeal of innovation are missing in our education system. So increasing the literacy rate will not only vital but also installing creativity in education system is much needed. This is the right time for the young scholars of Bangladesh to unveil their suggestions and analysis on how to input creativity in education system in Bangladesh and how the education system can be strengthened to achieve the increment. A discursive dialogue on this issue can be very much effective in this regard to reach a solution.
DISCURSIVE DIALOGUES-03: POLITICS OF POETICS
How politics influences, the literature creation will be discussed in this discursive dialogue. The effect of a country politics on arts and literature of a nation will be analyzed thoroughly by the scholars and panelist of the summit.
DISCURSIVE DIALOGUES-04: HEALTH INEQUALITY
Our country has been digitalized in many sectors, but inequality is still noticed in a health sector. Digitalization is not fulfilled if people in a country are discriminated in one of the five fundamental rights. According to a journal ‘Trends and determinants of inequities in childhood stunting in Bangladesh from 1996/7 to 2014’ in International Journal for Equity in Health, the relative inequality in under-five stunting increased by 56% and the concentration index more than doubled between 1996/97 and 2014. Health inequality is prevalent in all age groups in Bangladesh. Substantial bodies of research have shown that people who are poorest or most disadvantaged are more likely to face illness during their lifetime and die younger than those who are better off. The discursive dialogue on Health Inequality will uphold the reasons behind this prevalence and find out solutions to this discrimination to ensure equality in health sector.
